The use of CBT, NLP, Coaching and Counselling when working with mental, emotional and physical issues, enables me to help with a wide range of challenges that people may face through life.  By choosing the right approach I see clients overcome their issues and challenges, allowing them to move forward and flourish.

CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a psychotherapy based on modifying everyday thoughts and behaviours, with the aim of positively influencing emotions.  The general approach developed out of behaviour modification and Cognitive Therapy, and has become widely used to treat mental disorders.

NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming)

You could think of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) as an owner’s manual for the human brain.  It’s the study of how we think, feel and act, marked by an intense curiosity about how (rather than why) human beings get the results they do.  It aims to move beyond remedial change (fixing specific problems) to ‘generative’ change, which empowers you to achieve more in every area of your life.  Often people find that when they learn a new skill or make a breakthrough in one area of their life, problems in other areas seem to disappear or seem less important.

Coaching

Coaching is about “the now and the future”.  Developing confidence & ability in a person to enable them to move forward in a positive manner in the areas of their life where they seek positive change.  Coaching is about breaking down barriers that prevent this change from happening & creating the ideal environment for positive action to take place.  It is a totally holistic approach that looks at the present and sets goals for a successful future.

Counselling

Counselling is a process between client and counsellor to explore a difficulty the client is having, distress they may be experiencing or perhaps their dissatisfaction with life, or loss of a sense of direction and purpose.
